Venue rigging

Production loads must be submitted in the format and timeframe required by the venue and checked against approved points and methods.

Ground support

Base reactions, ballast, bracing, ground bearing and environmental actions make a temporary structure more than a collection of truss pieces.

Suspended equipment

Fixtures, LED, loudspeakers, scenic elements and cable systems need verified weights, attachment methods, secondary retention and coordinated access.

Dividing total equipment weight by the number of motors

Load distribution depends on geometry, stiffness, pick locations, spans, connections, dynamics and structural behaviour. Arithmetic averaging is not an engineering assessment.

They establish how planned loads interact with truss, hoists, supports and structures so qualified parties can evaluate safe capacity and configuration.

02Can total weight simply be divided between motors?+

No. Actual reactions depend on geometry, stiffness, pick positions, spans, connections and dynamic or environmental effects.

03Who should approve event rigging?+

The competent and qualified parties required by the venue and applicable jurisdiction, which may include structural engineers, venue rigging authorities and certified or otherwise competent riggers.

04What information should production provide?+

Verified equipment weights, dimensions, centres of gravity where relevant, desired positions, attachment details, cable loads and configuration changes.

05Is a truss layout enough for approval?+

No. A layout communicates geometry but does not by itself demonstrate structural capacity, support reactions, environmental design or installation compliance.
